Nursery, Home & You

You know your child better than anyone. We bring our early years expertise, you bring everything you know about your child, and together we can give them the best possible start.
From their first settling-in session to the day they leave us for school, we want you to feel informed, involved and part of nursery life.

A Positive Start

Starting nursery is a big step, so we never leave settling in to chance.
Every child is allocated a key person who will get to know your child and your family well, build a secure relationship with your child and become an important connection between nursery and home.
All children complete settling-in sessions before they start. Your first session gives you dedicated time with your child’s key person to talk through their routines, interests, temperament, communication, development, comforters and family life.
“Settling in is individual to each child. We work with you to make sure your child has the time and support they need to feel safe, secure and ready for nursery.”

Stay Connected With Famly

Famly is the secure nursery communication application we use to keep you connected with your child’s day.
You can receive updates, photographs and important information, communicate with the nursery team and see some of the experiences and achievements we share from your child’s time with us.
It complements the conversations you have with your child’s team rather than replacing them.

Home Visits

Sometimes the best place to begin getting to know a child is somewhere they already feel completely at home.
Our home visits give your child the opportunity to meet members of their nursery team in familiar surroundings before they start. They also give you time to talk, ask questions and share the little things that will help us get to know your child and family.
It is another way we can make that first step into nursery feel a little more familiar.

Your Child in Focus

Our Focus Child approach gives us dedicated opportunities to look more closely at your child’s interests, development and experiences.
Your knowledge is an important part of this. We bring together what you are seeing at home with what we are seeing at nursery, helping us understand what your child is enjoying, what they are learning and where we can take their learning next.

Come and Be Part of It

Nursery life is not just for the children.
Throughout the year we create opportunities for parents, carers and wider family members to join us through events, celebrations, workshops, Forest School experiences and other activities.
We also take nursery beyond our doors through local outings, community projects and intergenerational experiences.

Support When You Need It

There will be times when you have questions or need a little more support.
Our team can offer guidance and signposting, alongside workshops and information covering different aspects of early childhood and development.
If your child has additional needs, we work closely with you, our SEN and Inclusion Lead and other professionals where appropriate. You are part of the conversation and part of the decisions we make about supporting your child.

Ready for What Comes Next

School readiness is about much more than letters and numbers.
Throughout their time with us, we help children develop confidence, communication, independence, resilience and curiosity.
When school approaches, we work with you and your child’s new school to make the transition as positive as possible, including sharing a detailed transition report with your permission.

Be Part Of CPNG

We’re here to help you understand your childcare funding options. Our team can provide guidance on available schemes and support you in finding the best option for your family.

Fees & Funded Childcare

We want our fees and funded childcare offer to be clear and easy to understand. There are several types of government support available to help families with the cost of childcare.

Funded Childcare: What Could I Be Entitled To?

Depending on your child’s age and your family circumstances, you may be eligible for:
15 hours for all 3 and 4-year-olds. All children are entitled to 15 funded hours per week for 38 weeks of the year, from the term after their third birthday until they start school.
30 hours for eligible working families. Eligible working parents can access up to 30 funded hours per week for 38 weeks of the year, from the term after their child turns 9 months until they start school.
15 hours for eligible 2-year-olds. Some 2-year-olds whose families receive additional support, or who meet other eligibility criteria, can access 15 funded hours per week for 38 weeks of the year.
Eligibility criteria apply, so we recommend checking your entitlement through the government’s Best Start in Life service. CHECK YOUR ELIGIBILITY

How Funded Childcare Works at CNPG

Our full-day nurseries are open all year round and we do not offer term-time-only places.
Although government entitlements are described as a number of hours per week for 38 weeks of the year, funded hours at CNPG are offered as part of a year-round nursery place and within our available funded attendance patterns.
Funded places are subject to availability and our admissions criteria.

At our full-day nurseries:

Children attending 2 days can access up to 10 funded hours per day.
Children attending 3 or more days can access up to 7 hours 45 minutes of funding per day, across a maximum of 3 days.
Any additional days of attendance are privately payable.
Where a funded place is offered, the funded entitlement hours are provided free of charge. There is no requirement to purchase additional hours or optional extras to access those funded hours.
At our full-day nurseries, our standard full-day fee is £83. If your child attends for longer than their funded session, or attends additional days outside their funded pattern, this childcare is privately payable at our published rates.
Different fees and session arrangements apply at our Charnwood Pre-school & Out of School Club

What Will I Pay?

Our standard full-day fee is £83.
If your child attends for longer than their funded session, or attends additional days outside the funded pattern, this childcare is privately payable at our published rates.
Our online fees calculator provides an illustration of your likely childcare costs based on your child’s attendance and funded entitlement.

Meals, Consumables & Enhanced Learning Activities

For families who choose them, our optional extras package starts from £3.27 per funded hour and includes meals, consumables and enhanced learning activities.
These charges are optional and are not a condition of accessing a funded place. Families who choose not to purchase optional extras can access reasonable alternatives.
Full details of our charges and the alternatives available will be provided before you accept your place.

Tax Free Childcare

Tax-Free Childcare can provide further help towards your childcare costs.
If eligible, for every £8 you pay into your online childcare account, the government adds £2. You can receive up to £2,000 per child each year, or up to £4,000 for a disabled child.
